Cup Journey Starts with 12 Captain. |
With matches slated across ten iconic stadiums spanning Kolkata, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Pune, Lucknow, Chennai, Delhi, Dharmasala, Hyderabad, and Ahmedabad, the stage is impeccably set for a spectacle brimming with excitement and riveting encounters.
The 2023 ODI Cricket World Cup began on 5th October 2023 with first match being held between England and New Zealand at the well-known Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Since the match was hosted by India, several enthusiastic Indians were eager for this match hoping they would entitle the cup to their country. India played its first match on October 8th, against Australia and secured the win for themselves. The journey of India’s cricket team started with success. On 12th October India again won against Afghanistan which was their second winning after that on 14th October it was Pakistan vs India where India again won against Pakistan. India bagged 10 wins in a row. India is the only team who won 10 world cup matches. But the tragedy came on the last day. The opponent of this magnificent team was Australia. Australia did not win all the matches but in semifinals, their fielding was so good that it was merely impossible to win against Australia. On the day of the finals, Australia won the toss and chose to ball first. As the pitch of Ahmedabad was not in a good condition and had a drier pitch it was a problem for India to score well and fielding of Australia was as good as the previous match so it was a tough competition between these two teams. 1.3 lakh people from the stadium were cheering for India but at last Australia stopped the crowd of cheering people. They won the match, defeated India.
After the 2015 again Australia is the winner of 2023 Cricket World Cup for the 6th time. |
Although India lost the match, it truly did win the hearts of millions. India will and always be a team we’ll look up to and hope for a better finish next time.
